Well we have only been back one week but what a busy week it has been!
Firstly, a huge thank you to the dads who came in as part of fathers week. We have had girls football, boys tennis, gardening, music and help with our art. We really enjoyed the different activities and loved having different people in to work with us.
Secondly we have been busy getting our entries done for the village writing competition. Some of us wrote a report/ recount of when we interviewed people who had met the Queen. Others wrote about the school jubilee celebrations or village celebrations. Some children wrote about going further afield to celebrate the Jubilee.
In maths the Year 4s have been working hard with their shape work. We have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes. We have sorted shapes, solved puzzles and problems and been learning to visualise 3D shapes to draw and make their nets. We had Mrs Glendinning and a visitor in to watch one of our lessons and they comented on what great mathematical vocabulary the children were using! So well done for that.
Apologies, with such a busy week I have forgotten to set any homework. So I have asked the children to ensure that they read over the weekend and learn timestables (Year 4 we are focusing on 7s please!)
Next week we will be doing our Writing Optional SATs. We have completed our reading tests (well done everyone) and well done to the Year 5s who completed their maths papers. Year 4s will be doing their maths next week.
A reminder that on Thursday 21st Year 4s will be going to Sleaford for the village school festival.
