BBC weather roadshow

Today, Eagle class got a special treat- when they got to school, they found that their classroom had been transformed into a mini weather studio and that Ray and Sara from the BBC were our visitors. 

Ray had been at school since before 8am setting up the equipment. Sara started by talking with the children about presenting the weather. They then talked about some of the equipment and Sara gave us a demonstration Then it was our turn to have a go!

Fathers share afternoon

Thank you to all the Dads and relatives who came into school on Friday afternoon. The children enjoyed the opportunity to show them round their classroom and undertake different activities. 

Trip to Bradford media museum.

On Tuesday, Eagle and Osprey class went to Bradford Media museum in order to learn more about news and tv. We had a great day exploring this really interesting museum. We also got chance to make our own advert to persuade people to come to the museum. W all enjoyed watching each other's adverts on the big screen. 

Church schools festival - Sleaford

On Thursday, year 4s had a great day in Sleaford as part of the Church schools festival. They got to try out different activities, all relating to the theme of superheroes. They made superhero potions or designed superhero logos. One group got chance to use puppets and performed a superhero song using the puppets. 

Tuesday

We have been using the picture book Tuesday by David Wiesner to inspire us to write our own newspaper reports.

We have been writing in paragraphs, including an introduction and conclusion paragraph. We learnt how to write witness accounts, including quotes. We worked hard to create eye-catching headlines. Some of us even used alliteration and puns for our headlines. 

We spent time drafting our work then used ICT to publish. 

Mrs Simeoli Brown has worked hard to create a fabulous display in the corridor to celebrate our wonderful work. Take a look next time you're in school. In the meantime, here are a few photos.
