Science

So far in science we have started looking at forces. Last week we used different equipment and carried out 4 mini activities to recap our previous forces learning.

Today we carried out an investigation looking at the force needed to move a trainer/shoe across different surfaces.

Here are some photos of our investigation.

Term 5

Well we are already into term 5! It has certainly been a busy start with year 5s enjoying a fantastic three days at Freiston and year 4s working hard on a fabulous robot project.

I will upload a selection of Freiston photos but next time you are in school, take a look at our display in the corridor that leads between Eagle and Owl classrooms. There is also some of the owl pellet dissection work we did whilst at Freiston!

Hopefully you all received our class newsletter that gives you an overview of some of what we will be learning about this term. Our theme is news and weather and we have this week made a start on our literacy unit of learning about newspapers. We have also produced some wonderful newspaper collage art work as a starting point for our classroom displays.

In French we have been enjoying learning how to say the weather in French.
Quel temps fait-il aujourd'hui?

The children have been learning actions to support their learning of the vocabulary. I think a favourite weather in French seems to be saying 'Il y a des orages!' Ask your child what it means and if they can say it and demonstrate our action.
